The garden was one of four in a new competition called ‘Lifestyle Gardens’ launched at BBC Gardener's World Live 2015 show with the aim of showing visitors a cross section of inspiring designs for different stages of life.

 

‘Greener Pastures’ is aimed at the adventurous middle-aged retiree, keen to explore and widen their horizons with a wide variety of plants, both old favourites and new exotics. The garden is located in a familiar, quiet suburban street with both fenced and hedged boundaries.

 

The garden represents the merging horticultural influences between the UK and NZ with the premise that the couple travel to and from NZ to see family and pick up ideas for plants to try in their garden back home.
