Private Garden, Broadstairs

This small seaside garden in Broadstairs was previously a dark, dingy space encroached upon by large conifers. The clients wanted a contemporary outside space to complement their new sunroom. A large decked area, made from composite material to link in with the interior flooring, wraps around the sunroom, providing space for lounge chairs and in future, an outdoor kitchen. In time, the essentially tropical planting will grow lush and screen the surrounding fence. The evergreen trees along the boundary screen the upper bedrooms from sight.

A small lawn caters for the grandkids and Mediterranean style planting close to the kitchen lends scent.

Key focus was on the surfacing materials which would give it that contemporary edge. Timbertech’s Reliaboard in ‘Grey’ was chosen to match the Amtico in the sunroom and Prima Porcelain’s ‘Sandstone Ash’ all seamlessly link inside to outside.
